In this month’s newsletter, I want to let you in on one of my favourite topics, PERSONAL BRANDING, and I really like it because it allows me do a lot of self-reflection.
How much do you know about PERSONAL BRANDING? Take the next 5 minutes to read through!

Personal Brand is the image of yourself that you want to portray to the world. It is the story people tell about you when you're not in the room, but how do you build this brand?
1. Identify what you’re passionate about or interested in. What is that thing that matters to you? What do you enjoy doing? What do you absolutely hate doing? Who do you like being? How can you be your most authentic self? Identifying this will make you overcome Impostor syndrome.
Identifying your values might take some time and introspection – talking to peers, coworkers, friends, teammates, managers, professors.
2. When you’ve identified your values, you need to build love and trust with your brand. This is important because people tend to tilt towards brands they know, love and trust (I’ll pick coke over Pepsi any day because I know, love and trust coke!). You build love and trust by telling your story (show don’t tell). Try to tell your story in ways that people can relate to.
When you sell your story, what is key it what you want others to learn from it, and how you want to help people become better versions of themselves.
What do you build your personal brand with?
Skills gained from educational background, online certifications, courses you’ve taken on things you’re passionate about, soft skills and how you developed them
Experience you get from working, interning, volunteering, leading teams or working on projects
Events you attend and networks you’ve built. You can also talk about events you spoke at
Writing and commenting on posts that resonate with you
Your story which includes your achievements, failures, fears, successes
You need to be extremely self-aware to know what your strengths are, and what skills you’re a master at. You can rebrand as you gain more skills.
Personal Branding and Authenticity are interwoven. When you’re authentic while building your brand, you’d be a magnet for like-minded people!

When I began my personal branding journey, I created a PERSONAL BRAND ROADMAP, and it served as a guide to achieving the brand I wanted to portray to others.
